September 11th&12th, AFF Fly Fishing School |
The AFF Flyfishing School will be held on the Little Red River on the weekend of September 11 & 12. This two-day event will be conducted by Fox Statler and promises to be a great fishing outing as well as educational. Fox will instruct on the basis that successful experience is the best teacher. Participants will convene at 8:00am Saturday at the pavilion (by rip Collins creek) at JFK campground. The first morning will consist of lecture, demonstration and assistance on the basics (equipment, terminal tackle and set-up). After lunch break, the group will move to the river for the remainder of the school. There, they'll receive instruction, on a one-on-one basis, for casting, fly selection, reading the water, dead drift tactics for nymphs and midges and finally, fish-fighting techniques. After all, as fox likes to say, it's all fly fishing! Fees are 125.00 for members and 150.00 for non-members (invite a buddy if you want-he or she get a one year membership included) and are due by august 16 |
