Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing (PHWFF) is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and veterans through fly fishing and fly tying education, and outings.
Arkansas Fly Fishers has established a local PHWFF program in alliance with the PHWFF national organization using their agreements, programming experience and memos of understanding to ensure a quality program in central Arkansas. PHWFF also helps with funding, equipment and guidance to help ensure success and the quality of classes offered.
We serve our veterans twice a year; typically April - May and September - October. We meet Tuesday evenings from 5:30-8 pm at the Ft. Roots VA in North Little Rock. During our classes, we cover casting and fly tying followed up with a guided fishing trip provided by volunteers.
We are always looking for volunteers willing to assist. If interested in volunteering or learning more about our efforts, please click below.
